This is the place to ask The Young Adult Advisory Board and YA Librarian questions about the collection and to share your ideas for fun teen programming. We will answer questions from the suggestion box in the YA Lounge. Or, pose questions below.
Please make requests for specific items through the library's Suggestion for Purchase form.
Here's an example of a recent question from the YA Suggestion Box...
Q: "I would like to see more crocheting and knitting books in the Young Adult section, please."
A: Good suggestion. Please be sure to check the catalog to see what items are available in the adult collection. Many non fiction materials are published for a "General Adult" audience. These items are purchased from the adult funds portion of the library's materials budget. In this case, I would choose not to duplicate the purchase. However, if I hear of recommended titles which are specifically for a teen audience, I may choose to add them to the YA collection. If you are aware of a particular book you would like, that the MORE Library Consortium does not own, please make a Suggestion for Purchase.
